Franklin Middle Has Talent Franklin Middle school will be having a talent show in early 2012. Required meeting on November 9 after school. See flyer for more details. Message from our PTA President Sharon Selko Welcome to the 2011-2012 school year at Franklin Middle School. My name is Sharon Selko, and I am the PTA President for the current school year. Have you ever wondered where your membership dues and fundraising money go? The PTA arranges and pays for the cultural assemblies enjoyed by the students throughout the year; we give money to support the after school clubs that are available to any child attending FMS; we support our wonderful FMS Staff throughout the year with various events; we offer scholarships to local graduates that attended FMS; we fund the 8th grade farewell activities, and much more! None of what we do is possible without the direct support of our PTA membership, volunteers, fundraising efforts and donations. ANY help, whether it the gift of time or financial support, is truly appreciated and makes a REAL difference. Please give what you can. Are you able to volunteer? FMS PTA has volunteer openings that fit every schedule. There are one-time events, as well as ongoing programs, and even tasks you can perform at home. Let us know what your schedule will accommodate and where your interests lie, and we will help you find the volunteer opening that fits you! PTA does not mean a full time job. You help as little or as much as your schedule allows. But whatever you choose, PLEASE, join the PTA. You have received a membership form and information sheet in your summer mailing. Our meetings are open to everyone. I want to stress that you do not have to be a PTA Board Member or PTA Chairperson in order to attend a meeting. We welcome new faces and new ideas! Meetings are held once a month at 7:00 p.m. in the school library (see Events page for exact dates). Please consider joining us. We'd love to meet more people and get a wider range of input into what we are doing and how effective we are. Help us to make the PTA a better vehicle to support the students and the school. On behalf of the PTA Board of Directors, we hope you and your student(s) have a rewarding and successful school year! Best regards, President Franklin Middle PTA |
